Recreational Operations

The recreational outreach is the optimal opportunity to learn about mission work in a short time of 3 to 4 weeks. This assignment is a group assignment that is only offered by us at certain times.

Every year we offer different programs such as: Kids for Jesus, Mission Active or a construction retreat.

It also happens that various church congregations contact us and would like to come to Africa with a group for an outreach. This is also possible by arrangement.

Kenya is a country with many facets and a great thirst for the good news of Jesus Christ. Join us as we bring the Good News of Jesus to children and youth with a creative and colorful program!

Work assignment container conversion Ngechek/Kenya

Convert 2 containers into living containers so that we can use them as accommodation in Pokot when we evangelize or visit our sponsored children.

Short-term assignments

In a short-term assignment you will spend between 4 and 24 months in Africa (e.g. in Kenya, Uganda, Congo, South Sudan or Chad) to help out in a very practical way at a DIGUNA station: in the car repair shop, carpentry, housekeeping, on the construction site, in the radio studio or in another area. This is an important part of the mission.

But the most important thing you can share in Africa is your personal experience with Jesus. Together with African Christians you will be able to participate in evangelistic activities, e.g. school outreaches, home visits, open-air-meetings or missionary outreaches in villages for several weeks, depending on the duration of the outreach and the work situation. A short-term assignment can help you see how you would fare in another culture and whether mission is for you in the long run.

Prerequisites are:

Minimum age 18 years
born again Christian
Attendance of an info seminar
Participation in an introductory week in Haiger
Knowledge of English or French desired
Ability to work in a team
Willingness to serve
Interest in foreign culture
Deployment is self-financed

Long-term assignments

On our stations in Africa (e.g. in Kenya, Uganda, Congo, South Sudan or Chad) we need Christians to help in the practical area and in evangelistic outreaches. Essential to this is hands-on work in automotive repair, construction, woodworking, housekeeping, medical care, administration, electrical, radio work, and other areas. In particular, Christians with a corresponding profession can thus effectively contribute to the practical work on our wards. But we also need Christians to help with evangelistic outreaches in villages, schools, prisons and other places. The period of use is 24 months or longer.

In the “missionary everyday life” in an international team, every employee is challenged to live his or her faith. A mission in Africa offers many opportunities to use and develop gifts and skills. Above all, it is a way to serve God. It means giving up certainties and relying on Jesus in all consistency.

Prerequisites are:

Completed training, studies or comparable experience
Attendance of an info seminar
4 months candidate time in Germany
Knowledge of English or French
Accompaniment by a community or church
Ability to work in a team
